We are an independent consulting studio and an even smaller publishing house based in Vancouver, Canada.

About our work.

Etculli provides the unique combination of left-brain and right-brain disciplines to maximize effectiveness. We believe that the most interesting work happens at the intersection of opposing forces. Our process follows suit: a tension of intellect and intuition. 

We are interested in using design thinking to help organizations identify problems, to provide underlying clarity, and to create multiple solutions, whether it be for overall strategy, innovation, or internal organizational excellence.

Our job is to clarify, reduce, simplify and make something that will be flexible and yet endure. We apply this approach to the full breadth of our services which include:

Design can pitch in on strategy. Strategy can critique creative. Fundamental financial principles can actualize dreams. Whether acting as designer, photographer, illustrator, typographer, writer, 3D artist or director, we are fuelled by smart creative thinking and astute business strategy and execution.

We would like to work on projects that enrich communities, so we’re interested in contributing to charitable, cultural and civic institutions.

This about page is a bout of madness. No it is not, it is just an attempt to explain just about anything you might want to know about us. It has three sections: about Etculli Productions & Services, about etculli.com and about etculli the word, where it came from, what it means.

Before you read on keep two things in mind: we are not mad, and the word about is used 36 times on this page.

about etculli the company

We are a small studio located in Vancouver, BC. We like challenges of all kinds and since they do not come around too often we often go looking for them. Some small challenges sometime get out of hand and become big challenges. Just like our first one. Off to create an image on a lazy fall afternoon and before we knew it we could spell man years backward. That's about how long it took to complete our first major work, a comprehensive guide to space plants of the 23rd century titled Spacebloom : A Field Guide to Cosmic Xflora. Pesky inter space-time transfers and downtime due to inter galactic friction included. Fragments can be seen on spacebloom.net.

We are scrappy and nimble. And we wear a lot of hats and shoes.

Anahid: business strategist, financial fiend, publisher, editor, writer, runs Etculli (and some business development), likes Kurt Vonnegut and Jose Saramago, secret dream: be a ski bum

Martin: chief mouse operator and one man pixel factory (production is up 350%), designs everything, graduate of Emily Carr University, has over 45 Photoshop keyboard shortcuts tattooed on his forearm, favourite keyboard command: Undo, print production, secret dream: to be a baggage handler loading planes.

About etculli the website

Everything must start small. Just ask the universe. Etculli.com is no exception. For now a few pages, but the plan calls for expansion. Ah, the plan is perfect, straightforward,. The execution? It too will be perfect. Unless we happen to find ourselves in an imperfect world where time is scarce. Still we strive to make something out of this. Come back and check on us, perhaps once a month.

About our mascott N. A. Toquit

Our logo, a picture of a fencer. His name is Never About Toquit. Never fences all the time, most often with nobody. This would be strange if Never was a human, he is not and in his world fencing against imagined opponents is preferable, he tells us. The only thing this about page does not explain is why Never's middle name is About.
